Setting Sensors

  • It is possible to determine the sensitivity of sensors with the following experiment:
    1. Connect the inverting input of a comparator to a 2.5V supply.
    2. Connect an LDR, or other such sensor, and a variable resistor capable of offering a level of resistance greater than the level provided by the LDR, or other such sensor, when the conditions are desired.
    3. Adjust the variable resistor to find the resistance at which the brightness level desired is just enough to make the output signal positive.
    4. Find the resistance of the variable resistor and replace it with a fixed value resistor that has a level of resistance that is closest to the required value.
